Metals
Silver:
Our silver jewellery is classified as 925 Sterling quality. This means that
it contains a minimum of 92.5% pure silver. The remaining 7.5% is made up
of various metals, which are added in order to make the silver hard enough
to keep its shape. 925 Sterling is the industry standard for solid silver
jewellery.
Surgical
steel: This is steel of the same type and quality used in surgical
instruments and equipment , it is of superior quality to ordinary stainless
steel. Like stainless steel, surgical steel will not rust or loose its finish
and is highly unlikely to react with the skin.
Fossil material
Amber:
Fossilized plant resin sourced from the Baltic region. Translucent or transparent
with an orange-gold colour and may contain fragments of preserved plant
or animal matter. Amber is stable and very durable.
Fossilized
Mammoth ivory: Old cave drawings show that early man used mammoth
ivory for many Shamanistic, personal and household items as it is extremely
dense and durable. Our mammoth jewellery is made from 10 000 yr old tusks
found in Siberia. It is organic ivory, which has developed its warm and
sensuous colour by taking up minerals from the earth. Ivory is changed by
the personal chemistry of the wearer, and retains the wearer’s imprint.
It has been recognized as the most personally significant material since
the dawn of time. Tribu do not use any elephant ivory. No animals were harmed
by obtaining this ivory, which makes it a beautiful alternative to non-organic
ivories.
